UVC Light Technology
UV (Ultraviolet) light, or UV Radiation, is a naturally occurring form of energy measured on the electromagnetic spectrum. Sunlight is the most common form of UV radiation, which produces three types of UV waves: UVA, UVB, and UVC.
UVC Light has been used in the healthcare industry for over 100 years because of its germicidal properties. UVC light can damage the genetic material — DNA or RNA — in viruses, bacteria, mold, and spores, inhibiting their ability to replicate and, in turn, effectively killing them.
Germicidal effectiveness is a factor of the UVC light wavelength, irradiance, and distance between the UVC lamp and pathogens.
SteriLux Systems has optimized these features of UVC light technology to disinfect everyday items and garments quickly, safely, effectively, and simply.
